Catherington is a rural village with Catherington Down to one side, Catherington Lith to the other side and The Farmer Inn at the centre. Catherington has a conservation area and several character properties that are very attractive. At the middle of the village is a large pond adjacent to Catherington Infant School, which is a small village school with ninety children. Across the road is Old School field which provides a great area to walk or play football. From here a circular walk taking in the Downs and the Lith can be enjoyed perhaps, ending at the village pub! In the winter when the snow arrives Catherington Down is very popular for sledging. Also in the village is Kingscourt PrimarySchool and nursery set in lovely grounds. At the centre of the village are All Saints’ Church , The Church hall and Village hall which host several different clubs. Catherington has some residents that have lived in the village for over fifty years but recently young families have moved into the village. All are welcome and enjoy socialising – the annual village BBQ has played a big part in this.
